Children in election campaigns…

IN Indonesia, children are often exploited during election campaigns, including elections of regional chief executives, when in fact, children are banned from taking part in campaigns. At least five children killed during campaigns.
Political advertisement as one example. In television we saw a child wearing the party’s logo or uniform.
The exploitation must be stop. We need a ban on such exploitation of children during the coming elections. They can only be included in neutral activities that do not involve party attributes. Children are not the right actors to sell political products, and politics is not the proper toy for them.
We must convey to the General Elections Commission (KPU) and the political parties, to respect
children’s rights. Let children enjoy their youth and friendship. (*)
